Oman’s Education Framework

A number of national frameworks are required in order to facilitate the development of the higher education sector. These frameworks will be communicated at this website as they become available. They are:

Oman Qualifications Framework (OQF)
This framework sets out the different types of qualifications (e.g. certificates, diplomas and degrees) and the structure for how they relate to each other.

Oman Standard Classification of Education Framework (OSCED)
This framework describes in academic terms all the possible fields of study.

Oman Institutional Classification Framework (OICF)
This framework sets out the criteria for defining different types of higher education institution (e.g. universities and colleges)
