Dr. Huda is the Dean of Ibra Nursing Institute, Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman. Prior to joining Ibra Nursing Institute in 1994, she served as a Director for the Institute of Specialized Nursing Studies, Jordan, and was an executive director of a Primary Health Care Nursing Development Project (USAID-Jordan) from 1988-1994. She started her career as a nursing tutor when she joined the faculty of the Jordan College of Nursing in 1976, where she continued to work until 1986. She received her PhD in 2000 from the Pacific Western University, USA. She also has to her credit a MPhil in 1988 from Dundee University, UK.
As the Dean of the Ibra Nursing Institute she has been providing administrative and academic leadership and is responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of the institute’s functions. She has been a member of the curriculum evaluation committee since 1994 and is involved in evaluating the general nursing program and in the restructuring processes. She serves as a member of the Directorate General of Education and Training (DGET) Quality Assurance Committee and is a chairperson of the Institute Quality Committee. She has been serving as a member of the editorial committee and a manuscript reviewer of the DGET nursing periodical “Nursing Education Oman since 2003”. She is the chairperson of the Research Committee at the level of the Directorate General of Health Services in North Sharqiyah region. Dr. Huda’s specific areas of research are nursing education, evaluation and nursing informatics. She has served on the central Examination Committee of the Nursing Institutes for about 12 years, in addition to being a member of many other national and regional committees.
